Alcohol-Free Beer Mixed Cases Try the styles before committing to a case

A mixed case is a sensible first order if you do not yet know which alcohol-free beer you like. The useful question is how many different beers will you actually try? A 24-can box can still contain just two styles: quite a big experiment with rather few variables. Check the number of distinct beers, the size of each can and the delivered total before comparing offers.

The examples below come from the brands' own product pages checked on 8 October 2026. They are ways to explore different styles, not a ranking or a taste test. We have not bought or sampled these cases. Contents, stock, prices and delivery terms can change; check the live product page before ordering.

Three starting points

Option Published contents Useful if you want… Check before buying
Big Drop Mixed Case 6 Pack Six 300ml cans: two Pine Trail pale ales, two Paradiso Citra IPAs and two Reef Point lagers, according to the shop listing. A small first order spanning lager, pale ale and IPA. Whether six cans meet any delivery threshold, and the ingredients of each beer.
BrewDog Mixed AF Lost AF, Punk AF, Hazy AF and Wingman AF in 330ml cans, according to the product page. The page offers several case sizes. Several takes on lager and hop-forward beer in one order. The quantity selected, delivery charge and current contents. BrewDog lists these beers at 0.5% ABV.
Lucky Saint mixed cans Its shop lists combinations of unfiltered lager, hazy IPA and flavoured lagers; the available mixes and pack sizes vary. Lager-led choices, with an IPA or flavoured lager alongside. The exact mix and pack size: a mixed listing may not include every style in the range. Its unfiltered lager is listed at 0.5% ABV.

These are use cases inferred from the published contents, not claims about which beer tastes best. Once you know what you prefer, a single-style pack may be better value. If you want a dark beer, check a separate product such as Guinness 0.0 or Big Drop Galactic Milk Stout; neither is in the mixed cases above.

Read the ABV, not just the name

“Alcohol-free” appears on products with different stated strengths. BrewDog lists Mixed AF at 0.5% ABV, while Guinness calls its stout 0.0. Read the ABV on the exact product and pack you are buying if the distinction matters to you. Do not assume every beer in a retailer's alcohol-free category has the same stated ABV.

Compare delivered volume and variety

The price per can on a product page can look tidy until delivery joins the round. Start with the delivered total, including any shipping fee. Divide that total by the number of cans for cost per can, then compare can sizes as well. Six 300ml cans contain 1.8 litres; eight 330ml cans contain 2.64 litres. More importantly for a first order, count distinct beers: a six-can pack with three styles gives a different trial from a 24-can case of one lager.

Check the basket before paying. A brand's “from” price may refer to a larger case, promotion or repeat order. If a product offers a subscription discount, select a one-time purchase unless you intend to set up recurring deliveries. Record the next charge and cancellation terms if you do subscribe. Our UK beer subscription guide explains how to compare renewal dates and lock periods.

Ingredients matter across a range

Alcohol-free does not mean gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan. Lucky Saint says its unfiltered lager contains gluten. Big Drop says its milk stout contains lactose from milk, although it labels its beers gluten-free; its dietary details vary by beer. BrewDog says ingredients vary within Mixed AF. For allergies or dietary requirements, check each individual can and its current ingredient list, rather than relying on a mixed case's headline description.

A quick buying checklist

  • Choose the styles you want to explore and count the distinct beers in the pack.
  • Check the stated ABV and ingredients of each beer, including allergens.
  • Compare the delivered total, can sizes and number of cans.
  • Confirm whether the basket is a one-time purchase or a recurring order.
  • Recheck the live contents and terms immediately before paying.
